CITY OF QUINCY, ILLINOIS

Sealed bids for the SOUTH 12th - JEFFERSON to STATE STREET RECONSTRUCTION (MR 681) Project in the City of Quincy, Adams County, Illinois, described herein will be received at the office of the City Clerk, Suite 129, 730 Maine Street, City Hall, Quincy, Illinois 62301 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 13th, 2024, and at that time publicly opened and read aloud in the City Hall Council Chamber.

The City of Quincy’s MR 681 Project consists of reconstructing South 12th Street from Jefferson Street to State Street. Work includes 4,253 tons of hot-mix asphalt, 3,602 feet of combination curb & gutter, 1,284 feet of sewers, 20,262 square feet of PCC sidewalks, 2,007 feet of water main, water service replacements, and related improvements.

Plans and specifications are available online at www.quincyil.gov/bids and may be examined at the office of Department of Utilities & Engineering, City Hall, 730 Maine Street, Quincy, Illinois 62301.

All bids shall be accompanied by either a bid bond on the “Proposal Bid” form contained in the proposal, executed by a corporate surety company satisfactory to the city of Quincy, or a bank cashier’s check, an irrevocable letter of credit or a properly certified check for not less than 5 percent of the amount bid, or for the amount listed in the specifications.

The City Council of Quincy reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.

No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening of the bids is past.
