The City of Batavia, IL will accept sealed bids for the 2023 CDBG New Sidewalk Installation. This project consists of installing new connecting sidewalks on Madison St. and Church St. in order to connect to existing sidewalk segments. Driveway repairs will be necessary where the sidewalks intersect the driveways. The work is partially funded through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).

Bids will be received by the Civil Engineer, in the Engineering Division, at the above address until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. All bids will be publicly opened at 2:01 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
This contracting opportunity has been made possible, in part, by the Kane County Board, through its Office of Community Reinvestment, with federal funds provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Section 3 Businesses and Minority/Women-Owned Businesses are encouraged to bid on this project. Federal prevailing wage requirements apply to this contract.
Bidders are advised of the following requirements of this contract: 1) Federal Prevailing Wage Requirements; 2) 5% Bid Security with submittal of bid; 3) 110% Performance Security within fifteen (15) calendar days after Contract award; 4) applicable OSHA and EPA requirements; 5) IDOT Prequalification for category #17 − Concrete Construction.
The City Council of the City of Batavia reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any technicalities, discrepancies, or information in the bids. The City of Batavia does not discriminate in admission, access to, treatment, or employment in its programs and activities.
The Owner reserves the right to require the low bidder to file proof of, within seven (7) days of the bid opening, his ability to finance and execute the project. This proof shall include, but not be limited to, a financial statement, list of equipment owned by bidder, backlog of jobs under a Contract only to a Bidder who furnishes satisfactory evidence that he has the ability, sufficient capital, facilities, and plant to enable him to prosecute the work successfully and promptly, and to complete the work within the time specified in the Contract Documents.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, offers, or proposal submitted, or to advertise for new bids. The Owner reserves the right to defer the acceptance of any bid and the award of a Contract for a period not exceeding sixty (60) days after the date of opening the bids.
