Description:

1. NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Batavia, Illinois (hereinafter called the "Owner") will receive bids at the Batavia Public Works Office, 200 North Raddant Road, Batavia, Illinois 60510-2292, until 10:00 o’clock a.m. local time on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, for 2023 West Side Property Maintenance (hereinafter called the "Project")

2. The Public Bid Opening will be held at the Batavia Public Works Office, 200 North Raddant Road, Batavia, Illinois 60510-2292, at 10:00 o’clock A.M. local time on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.

3. This is a cash project.

4. The work for which bids are to be received generally and briefly consists of the following:

  • Mowing and Property Maintenance to approximately 51 sites on the west side of Batavia

5. All work shall be in accordance with the specifications as set forth in the Contract Documents, plans, and other State and Local regulations as applicable.

6. The bid from the Contractor shall consist of the submission of the completed Contract Documents and supplemental addendums as received from the Owner. The bid shall be made on the BID PROPOSAL, BID SCHEDULE, and BID CONDITIONS forms provided as part of these Bidding Documents and shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the form of a Certified or Cashier’s Check from a responsible solvent bank or Bid Bond made payable to the City of Batavia in the amount of $500.00. The amount of the bid guarantee shall be forfeited to the Owner if the Bidder neglects or refuses to enter into a Contract after the bid has been accepted.

7. The Owner reserves the right to require the low Bidder to file proof, within seven (7) calendar days of the bid opening, of the Contractor’s ability to finance and execute the project. This proof shall include, but not be limited to, a financial statement, a list of equipment owned by Bidder, and a backlog of jobs under a Contract. The Project will be awarded once the qualified low Bidder furnishes satisfactory evidence that they have the ability, sufficient capital, facilities, and plant to enable the Contractor to prosecute the work successfully and promptly, and to complete the work within the time specified in the Contract Documents.

8. The Contractor shall provide a written statement as part of the Bid submittal of verifying their ability to commence work on the project within the time specified in the Contract Documents.

9. The Owner intends to accept the lowest responsible bid and the Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, offers, or proposals submitted, or to advertise for new bids. The Owner reserves the right to defer the acceptance of any bid and the award of a Contract for a period not exceeding sixty (60) days after the date of opening the bids.

Qualifications:
10. The successful Bidder to whom the Contract shall be awarded shall sign the Contract, furnish a Performance Bond, or Letter of Credit in amounts equal to one hundred ten percent (110%) of the Contract Amount and required Certificates of Insurance, within five (5) calendar days after the Contract has been awarded. Failure to do so shall make the Contract null and void.
11. Bidders are advised of the following requirements of this contract: 1) by a bid guarantee in the form of a Certified or Cashier's Check from a responsible solvent bank or Bid Bond made payable to the City of Batavia in the amount of $500.00; 2) 110% Performance Security within five (5) days of Contract award; 3) applicable OSHA and EPA requirements.
12. Bid package (Instructions to Bidders, Contract Documents, Plans, Specifications and Special Provisions) for use by prospective Bidders and interested suppliers may be obtained from the Batavia Public Works Office, 200 North Raddant Road, Batavia, Illinois 60510-2292.
