The Illinois Department of Transportation District 1, Bureau of Traffic is seeking a vendor to provide Towing, Training and Recovery training. Vendors must be accredited and certified by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and qualified to train in the proper techniques of heavy duty towing towing and recovery. Qualified vendors are to submit proof of accreditation and certification. Training should include, but not limited to, the topics specified on "Training Specification" attachment. Training is to be conducted on-site at the location designated by IDOT. Classes should include Level 1 & Level 2 training, National Tow Operator exam certification in the proper operation of towing light & heavy vehicles, appropriate rigging, and the safe recovery of vehicles, especially in high traffic speed & volume situations. The vendor shall provide all training materials. State will provide the equipment. To be held at Emergency Traffic Patrol, 3501 S. Normal, Chicago, IL 60616. Training for up to 45 Emergency Traffic Patrol Employees. Training performed on State premises shall be done during the hours designated by the State and performed in a manner that does not interfere with the State and its personnel. All travel costs must be included with bid. Contract with possible one year renewal.
