CHANGE ORDER NOTICE:CO#2: Reconciliation to final quantities. Erodible subgrade material was found near Sta 19+00 and 20+00. The addition of an estimated quantity of 235 tons of the existing contract pay item "Shot Rock Fill" will be used to provide the slope stability and erosion protection needed to protect the area immediately south of a newly constructed residence. The residence was constructed after initial mapping and the homeowner's newly created yard extends to the slope. Without rock protection erosion will occur making the slope unsafe to traverse and soil erosion will create sediment in an existing water body. This change order also adjusts the contract quantities to comply with the final as-built pay item quantities. These circumstances were unforeseeable at the time and germane to the original contract. Change order is in accordance with 720 ILCS 5/33E-9. (ref. original contract - P-35719).
